All the Questions...at least SOME of the Answers...

If you are a Methodist (particularly a United Methodist), here and reading this blog, you've probably been asking some pretty serious questions about your church and your faith. You've probably recently been forced to review what you seriously believe, and may be trying, (perhaps in a state of shock and or grief) to put meaning to what caused the state of affairs we are in regarding Methodism across the world. And as you ask those questions, and as a result of what you've found so far, and depending upon who you asked, you may be in a quandry about what to do next.

If you are confused, you are not alone. These are chaotic times, and most of what has caused the confusion has been strategically engineered. Welcome to the club of confusion. We bought tee shirts. There is a mass exodus from the UMC. But here in Missouri, we invite you to run toward Jesus. We are here with the "Show Me" WCA Logo. And we are saying it out loud: SHOW ME JESUS. We believe that should be the topic of every conversation, first and formost. That is one of the strategic ways we differ from some other Methodists.

This is a webpage for the Wesleyan Covenant Association of Missouri. Here, in this venue, you will find the perspective, unabashedly put forth, of the traditional, orthodox ministry of John Wesley Methodism and the 2,000 year plus tradition Bible-based and inspired Christian faith of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for anything else, we truly encourage you to try another website and organization...and we truly wish you well as brothers and sisters in Christ who are, to put it both literally and symbolically, on a different page. The Wesleyan Covenant Association purposefully and intentionally leads to the Global Methodist Church.

In this blog, we will share many of the views of the organizations that ARE on the same page, and whom we find to be helpful in understanding the doctrine and discipline of the GMC. Moving forward, we will also share the original source of the writer's work, and the organization each writer represents. Just jump in with us and help us to build the Global Methodist Church plane as we fly it. We are in Missouri, and we're coming soon to a church near you. Stay tuned. God has great plans for us, and we want you to be a part of it. As of this writing, there are churches disaffiliating and moving purposefully toward the GMC. There will be questions all along the way, and your MO WCA Board will be asking those questions for you and getting back with you so you know better how to travel this unknown road.

We ask you to start on this new road with a new mindset; consider that you are a "new church plant" even if your church building and congregation is a hundred years old...because guess what! You are a NEW church for all practical purposes. There are those in churches around you who have been displaced by the shift in Methodism and the closing of their congregations. There are those who can no longer stay with their churches for a lifetime because of changes in pastoral leadership. For whatever reason, there are traditional Methodists who are "homeless" in regard to their church familes, and we are here to accomodate their need for a church home...it will take a while to formulate, and will look radically different. And that's FINE. We invite your traditional church to open its doors and welcome in the fold. We also ask you to remember that our progressive brothers and sisters are still our brothers and sisters who simply disagree with us. Handle those situations with care and the love of Christ...just stay scriptural. And stay tuned! This is a place where answers are being formulated, and God is being praised. Our focus is Jesus and the primacy of Scripture.
