The Wesleyan Covenant Association of MO
AfricaNOW: The Missional Focus
AfricaNOW is a short-term, laser-focused initiative of the Wesleyan Covenant Association to provide financial support to African Methodists for information development and distribution, advocacy, and networking opportunities as momentum builds there for separation from the UMC. African Methodists are rising up in response to recent decisions by the United Methodist Church which refute biblical standards by affirming same-sex weddings, as well as LGBTQIA+ pastors and bishops.
Help us partner with them to release their capacity to contend for the Lord, defend the faith, and chart their course for the future.
What is the North South Central Jurisdiction?
You may be wondering exactly what the "North/South Central Jurisdiction of the WCA is, especially since the Missouri Chapter is still operational. We are, in our membership in the jurisdiction, continuing to be "nimble" staying in operation in Missouri as long as there are churches who reach out for help in determining their future; born out of the need to continue the amazingly successful work of the Wesleyan Covenant Association as it shifts to meet need across the world. In short, we are consolidating our chapters. We are in communication with our brothers and sisters in Iowa and Wisconsin, and remain here for you with your questions, prayers and concerns.
The WCA continues to offer help and hope to our brothers and sisters in the Central Conferences of the UMC (Africa, Europe/Asia and Philippines) where they have been denied the opportunity to disaffiliate from the UMC. When, during the UMC General Conference, these conferences were effectively barred by the UMC from using par. 2553 from the UMC Book of Discipline, the WCA began its work in conjunction with our African brothers and sisters to put it right.
